This is a famous hit song in Sri Lanka composed by Clarence Wijewardene and originally performed by Clarence's band The Super Golden Chimes in the mid-1970’s. Later on, the song was recorded in Tamil by A.E Manoharan with the title “Muruga”. The song is inspired by the practice of Kavadi dancing at the Kataragama temple.
