Vadai, sometimes pronounced vada, is a savory snack. Vadai is popular in Asian countries like India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia etc. In Sri Lanka we have two varieties of vadai. One is the parippu vadai which is made using lentils and the second is the udu vada which is made using urad dal. Different communities make vadai using more or less same the basic ingredients but with a few differences in the preparation of this snack.
